Open Call for Artists Worldwide: Get Filmed & Featured for Free
Artistivo is inviting artists from around the world to share their stories, showcase their creative work and reach new audiences through a free short film and editorial feature. Applications are open to artists of all disciplines, with a few artists selected each month.

Every artist has a story worth telling. Behind every painting, sculpture, illustration, photograph, performance or musical composition is a creative journey shaped by ideas, experiences, challenges and discoveries.
At Artistivo, we believe the people behind the art deserve just as much attention as the work itself.
That's why we're launching an ongoing international open call for artists to participate in our Artists Visits series and be featured in the Artistivo Journal.
Each month, we select a small number of artists from our community to introduce through a short film and an accompanying editorial article.
There are no application fees, filming costs or publication charges. Everything is completely free.
What Is Artistivo's Artists Visits?
Artists Visits is an Artistivo initiative dedicated to discovering artists, exploring their creative processes and sharing the stories behind their work.
Through short, documentary-style films, we introduce artists to a wider audience and offer a closer look at their ideas, inspirations, techniques and artistic journeys.
We want to know what drives you to create, how your work has developed and what makes your artistic practice unique.
Some artists work in busy studios filled with materials and unfinished experiments. Others create at home, work digitally, perform on stage or explore several disciplines at once. Every creative practice has its own story.
Depending on your location, we may visit you to film in person or arrange a remote filming session. Artists based anywhere in the world are welcome to apply.
Selected artists will have the opportunity to receive:
- A short artist film: A professionally produced video introducing you, your work and your creative process.
- A Journal feature: An editorial article exploring your artistic practice, creative background and inspirations.
- International exposure: The opportunity to reach audiences through Artistivo's website, artist community and relevant promotional channels.
You can explore examples of our existing films in the Artists Visits collection.
Why Should Artists Apply?
1. Reach a Wider International Audience
Creating meaningful work is only one part of an artist's journey. Helping people discover it can be equally challenging.
A feature on Artistivo introduces your work to a growing international community of artists, collectors, galleries, curators, art enthusiasts and creative professionals.
Rather than relying entirely on social media, your film and Journal article provide additional ways for audiences to encounter your work and learn about your artistic practice.
2. Tell the Story Behind Your Art
People connect with stories.
A finished artwork can inspire curiosity, but understanding the person and process behind it often creates a deeper appreciation.
An Artists Visits film gives you the opportunity to speak about your inspirations, creative experiments, techniques, challenges and ambitions.
Whether your story involves years of experimentation, a change of career, an unusual artistic method or a lifelong passion for creativity, we want to help bring it to life.
3. Receive a Short Film About Your Work
Producing a professional artist video can require filming equipment, editing skills, time and financial resources.
Through Artists Visits, selected artists have the opportunity to be introduced through a short film without paying production or publication fees.
A video feature can help audiences connect with your personality, environment and creative process in a way that still images alone cannot.
You can also share your published feature with prospective collaborators, galleries, collectors and others interested in learning more about your work.
4. Build Your Professional Reputation
Being featured in an artist interview or editorial publication can add valuable context to your professional portfolio.
An Artistivo Journal article offers a dedicated space for your story, creative approach and selected works.
You can link to the published article from your website, artist biography, social media accounts, exhibition proposals or professional applications.
Together, your video and article help present a more complete picture of who you are as an artist.
5. Improve Your Visibility Beyond Social Media
Social media can be an effective way to share artwork, but posts can quickly disappear from people's feeds.
A dedicated artist profile, Journal article and video feature create more lasting places for audiences to discover your work.
These pages can also provide additional opportunities to appear in relevant search results when people look for your name, artistic discipline or creative practice.
Although search engine rankings are never guaranteed, having well-organised, publicly accessible content can strengthen your online presence.
6. Connect with the Wider Creative Community
Artistivo is building an international community where artists can showcase their work, discover one another and explore creative opportunities.
Through our artist directory, Journal, Artists Visits and location-based networks, we aim to connect independent artists with audiences and creative communities beyond their immediate circles.
Being featured is an opportunity not only to introduce your work but also to become part of a wider conversation about art and human creativity.
Your Free Artistivo Artist Page: More Than an Application Requirement
To apply for Artists Visits, you'll first need an artist page on Artistivo.com.
Creating and maintaining your artist profile is completely free.
Your Artistivo page is your personal space to introduce yourself, showcase your portfolio and make your work accessible to an international audience.
Unlike a typical social media profile, an Artistivo artist page is designed specifically for presenting creative work, with your biography, artistic disciplines and portfolio brought together in one place.
Having an Artistivo profile offers benefits beyond applying for this open call:
- Showcase your artwork, projects and creative achievements in one dedicated portfolio.
- Help collectors, galleries, curators and other artists discover your work.
- Make your artist profile accessible through search engines.
- Connect your work to Artistivo's wider international artist directory.
- Build a professional online presence without paying portfolio hosting or subscription fees.
- Become eligible to apply for editorial features and Artists Visits.
Your profile remains valuable even if you're not selected for a film or Journal feature.

Who Can Apply?
Our open call welcomes artists worldwide, regardless of nationality, location, experience or career stage.
We encourage applications from artists working across a wide range of disciplines, including:
- Painting, drawing and illustration
- Sculpture, ceramics and installation art
- Photography, film and digital art
- Music, singing and sound art
- Dance, theatre and performance
- Design, textiles and mixed media
- Other forms of visual, performing and interdisciplinary art

We're interested in discovering distinctive creative voices, meaningful artistic practices and compelling stories.
Both emerging and established artists are welcome to apply.
How to Apply for Artists Visits
Applying is simple, and the entire process is free.
Step 1: Create Your Free Artistivo Profile
Visit Artistivo.com and create your artist page if you don't already have one.
Your profile will serve as your portfolio and allow our team to explore your work.
Step 2: Make Sure Your Profile Is Complete
To be eligible for consideration, your Artistivo profile must include:
1. A photograph of yourself as your profile picture
Upload a clear photograph of yourself so visitors and our editorial team can see the person behind the artwork. Please use a personal photograph rather than an artwork, illustration or logo.
2. An artist biography
Add a biography introducing yourself, your artistic background, creative interests and approach to your work.
Your biography doesn't need to be long, but it should help us understand who you are and what you create.
3. At least six works in your Works section
Upload a minimum of six examples of your creative work to the Works section of your Artistivo profile.
Choose pieces that represent your artistic practice and demonstrate the range or direction of your work.
For musicians, performers and other disciplines, relevant examples of your work can include the media formats supported by your Artistivo profile.
Step 3: Send Us Your Artistivo Profile Link
Once your profile is complete, submit the link to your Artistivo artist page through the Artists Visits page.
Your Artistivo profile is all we need for the initial review. There's no need to prepare a separate PDF portfolio or lengthy application document.
How Are Artists Selected?
Every month, Artistivo reviews applications and selects a small number of artists for upcoming features.
Our editorial team considers several factors, including:
- The quality, originality and individuality of the artist's work.
- Their creative process and the story behind their practice.
- The completeness and presentation of their Artistivo profile.
- The potential to create an engaging short film and editorial feature.
- Available filming arrangements and editorial capacity.
Selection is not based on social media popularity, follower counts or commercial success.
Because only a limited number of artists can be featured each month, applying does not guarantee selection.
If selected, we'll contact you directly to discuss your story, arrange an interview and plan the filming process.
Depending on where you're based, we may organise an in-person visit or film remotely.

Your Art Has a Story. Let Us Help Tell It.
Art is more than the finished work. It's the people, experiences, experiments and ideas that bring it into existence.
At Artistivo, we want to celebrate those stories and help independent artists gain the visibility and recognition their work deserves. Whether you're emerging or established, we'd love to discover your work. Create or complete your free artist page, then apply through the Artists Visits page.
