Paola Perrucci and her Harp are constantly searching out both
sonorous and virtuoso qualities, much of which as yet unexpressed,
aimed at taking traditional technical possibilities towards new limits. Her
specific attention to contemporary music has lead to an increasing number of composers
taking a fresh interest in this new instrumental reality. Indeed, to date, a great deal of music has been written for
and dedicated to her. In particular, we should mention musical productions such as
“Solo di Donna” by Adriano Guarnieri of which arose from the ideas of Perrucci
herself. These works, as with the forthcoming “Process a Costanza Monti”, by
Guarnieri, revolve around women’s themes, in their transcendental and immanent
forms.
One other important feature of her instrumental research is that which concerns the
re-examination ancient works, for example the reutilization of almost forgotten pieces
like Bochsa and Labarre’s operatic paraphrases. Wholly original is her delivery of
music for mechanical clocks by C. Ph. E. Bach, in which the similarity to the sounds
of the harp is evident and historically tested.
It ' was a guest soloist at festivals like " Milano Musica " , " Musical Feasts " of the
Teatro Comunale of Bologna , " Ravenna Festival " , " Opera " in Rome , "

Bologna for a job in the first performance of Maestro Cesare Grandi with actress
Stefania Rocca . Next August will give a solo concert of music by Rossini for the
concerts of the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro .
Paola Perrucci began her musical studies at the age of eight, following in her

Conservatory in Pesaro with the highest of marks and distinction. She then continued
her studies at the S. Cecilia Academy in Rome.
In 1986 she became prima arpa with the Italian Youth Orchestra. That same year

Conservatory in Bologna and pursued further studies in Analysis and Composition
with Maestro Cesare Grandi.
As from 2000, she has played in duet with the flautist Annamaria Morini, thus
incrementing the contemporary repertory for flute and harp, and contributing to its
diffusion in the most varied of areas. These include important musical exhibitions,
such as Milano Musica, as well as educational forums. Authors such as Giacomo
Manzoni and Alessandro Melchiorre have written for them, not to mention many
other composers of the latest generations.
In 2007 she was a soloist
in the work “Pietra di Diaspro” by Adriano Guarnieri, in which she interprets all
seven parts, written specially for her, something totally new in contemporary
compostion for harp. E’ stata prima arpa nell’orchestra Mozart per l’ultimo lavoro di
Stockhausen “ Tierkreise” diretto da Oliver Knussen.
She recorded a solo harp CD of Rossini Musics for the Italian Discographic Institute
and a CD of French musics of early XIX century for solo harp, coming soon for the
Dinamic records.
