Honey Rouhani

British/Iranian Soprano Honey Rouhani, recently made her debut with the Dulwich Opera Company as the role of Musetta in their production of Puccini's La Boheme. Lyric-Coloratura Soprano, graduated from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Drama with a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal studies, where she was a Leverhulm scholar. Honey continues to study with Alison Wells.

 

Honey is no stranger to the stage and the world of performing arts, she started Ballet at the age of 4 and continued for fifteen years. Honey started her musical journey at the age of six with leraning the piano with her father, Mehran Rouhani, Composer.

She has studied with professors, Jennifer Dakin ARAM, Ameral Gunson GSMD, Ian Kennedy GSMD and Sophie Grimmer RCM. She has also performed in masterclasses with Linda Hirst, Joan Rogers, Neil Jenkins, John Hancorn and Ron Morris. In 2013, Honey was the English Song competition finalst at the Trinity Laban.

 

Recent performances include a European tour of Iranian Composer, Shohreh Shakoori's new works, premier of ' Norooz Suit' by Babak Kazemi (V&A). UK Premier of Reza Vali's 'Persian Folk Songs' (Epic Persia - Cadogan Hall) with the Docklands Sinfonia conducted by Spencer Down. Nightingale in Sarah Percival's new Play 'The Gate' (Leighton House), premier of ' Only Sound Remains' by Soosan Lolavar (V&A), Magda in Puccini's ' La Rondine' (Trinity Laban), Sandman and Dew Fairy in Humberdinck's 'Hansel and Gretel' (Opera in Space), Susanna in Mozart's 'Le noze di Figaro' (Trinity Laban).

Chausson's 'Poem de l'amour et de la mer' with the Angel orchestra conducted by Peter Fender, Venus in Offenbach's 'Orpheus in the Underworld' (Trinity Laban - Blackheath Halls), soloist in Haydn's 'The Creation' conducted by Nicholas Craemer (St John's Smith Square), Tina in Jonathan Dove's 'The Flight' (Trinity Laban), Opera Diva in John Cage's centinary festival curated by Stephen Montague (Trinity Laban), Honey has also had the pleasure singing with the Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra conducted by Peter Fender.

 

In 2010 Honey made her Opera debut with the role of Mabel in Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Pirate's of Penzance' and later Cupid in Offenbach's 'Orpheus in the Underworld' with the Epsom Light Opera Company.

 

Apart from life as a singer, Honey teaches Singing privately as well as in Schools.

Honey is also the Artistic Director of her own company, Miele Canto, where she provides teaching services to schools and privately, as well as performances, bringin Opera to North London.
