S. Cláudio Lobão was born on September 26, 1936 in São João Nepomuceno, state of Minas Gerais, Brasil. S. Cláudio Lobão had not contact with music in his childhood and only began to studying classical guitar at the age 23. His masters were José de Assis Martins and Walter de Carvalho Alves. He worked as a banker and, for some years, he taught guitar. S. Cláudio Lobão published the article “The Guitar and the Hemispheres” in the newspaper “Estado de Minas” (September – 1998), in the magazine “Classical Guitar” (Volume 18, nº 9, May – 2000), in the magazine “Violão Intercâmbio” (nº 43, Year VII, September/October – 2000). In 2007, he granted interview to the Italian Guitar Association Suoni Nuovi intitled: “Sebastião Cláudio Lobão… una vita dedicate alla chitarra”.
