Cinzia Castellano

Cinzia Castellano is a Florentine abstract painter (and occasionally a ceramist). For more than 20 years she has been actively working mainly in London, punctuated by a few years in NYC and in her home town, Florence. Her pictorial vocabulary reverberates her experience of travelling and her response to different cultural environments. Contrasts, adaptation, rooting, uprooting, idiosyncrasies and misunderstandings (with the occasional odd translation) are an integral part of her narrative. Her artworks explore something which is intangible and that goes beyond words, symbols, colours and cultures. Her seemingly random marks are deliberate; sometimes by mistake.
