Alexei KHOREV was born in Saint-Petersburg in a family of musicians. He begins guitar study at the age of 7 with his father, Alexey Alexeevich Khorev, an outstanding Russian guitar teacher, one of the pillars of Saint-Petersburg guitar school who educated several generations of brilliant musicians. Considered as a child prodigy as well as his sister Ekaterina Khoreva, he performs with the Khorev family quartet and later in duet with Ekaterina.They give concerts in the top concert halls of Russia and participate in many famous guitar festivals (St Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk, Dniepropetrovsk, Poltava, Donetsk, Voronezh, Ekaterinbourg). They also take part in numerous radio and TV shows. Alexei wins three times consecutively V. Andreev International Competition for young musicians in St Petersburg (1992-94-96). At the same time, he becomes the laureat of the most important international guitar contest for young musicians of those days in Russia, in Voronezh (1992-94-96) as well as Krakow (1994), Gdansk (1995) and Moscow (1996). In 1996, he leaves Saint-Petersburg for Paris where in 2000 he is the first prize winner of his graduating class at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music and Dance, (acronym CNSMDP). while in Olivier Chassain's class. He also studies chamber music with the world famous oboe player Maurice Bourgue. Thereafter, he achieves his musical training being given Master classes by Leo Brouwer, Stephen Dodgson and Nikita Koshkin. In 1998, Alexei is awarded scholarships by Yamaha and Tarrazi foundations. In 2003, He receives a support from Natexis Banque Populaire foundation. In 2009, he is among the 15 finalists of the Parkening International Guitar Competition, in the USA and wins 3rd prize at The International Competition Robert J.Vidal in France. In 2010, in India, he received a prize as the best player of Koshkin's compositions, in Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival & Competition "Nikita Koshkin". His training is very much influenced by chamber music. He gives duet recitals with his sister Ekaterina Khoreva and also guitar and violin duet recitals with Ekaterina Malachkova, David Galoustov and Vadim Tchijik. He performs on numerous stages in Russia, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Austria and France where he also gives master classes. Alexei lives in France on the Atlantic Coast.
