La Plataforma presents Playhouse, the new exhibition by artist Ece Haskan as part of the new edition of Art Nou 2026. The opening will take place on June 25 at 7:00 PM. Art Nou is the emerging art festival of Barcelona and L’Hospitalet that promotes young national and international creation, building connections between artists, galleries, independent spaces, and cultural institutions. The 2026 edition once again focuses on emerging artistic production and on galleries as spaces for encounter, dialogue, and discovery. The program brings together more than fifty exhibitions and over one hundred and ten artists, alongside parallel activities such as guided tours, artist talks, performances, screenings, and interventions across different spaces in the city. In Playhouse, Ece Haskan transforms the idea of “home” into a symbolic space where identities are constructed, roles are performed, and memories are stored. The artist proposes understanding home not only as a physical space, but also as a place where we learn forms of relationship, behavior, and ways of belonging. Through the concept of “playing house,” the exhibition shifts this childhood game into a reflection on family and social structures. The house becomes a stage where questions related to safety, belonging, transition, and temporary living spaces emerge. The project also addresses the experience of migration and the feeling of constant movement, exploring how the spaces we inhabit participate in the construction of our identity. Between the real and the imagined, the artist places the viewer within a play space where the limits of home are questioned: where it begins, where it ends, and what makes it a place of one’s own. On Saturday, June 27 at 12:00 PM, a guided tour of the exhibition with Ece Haskan will take place, where the artist will share with the public the concept behind Playhouse, her creative processes, and the ideas that run through her work.
