Aby Mackie

Aby Mackie is a UK born, Barcelona based textile artist exploring the transformative potential of existing materials through a material-led methodology of deconstruction, reconstruction, reconfiguration and manipulation. She works with both traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques some rooted in fine art practices. Using hand-stitched and layered textiles she treats fabric as a site of inscription where repair, repetition and accumulation honour the past lives contained within textiles.

Aby's works are in exhibitions, private collections, luxury hotels and high end restaurants across Europe, the USA, South America, Asia and the Middle East.
