Performing Gender Bologna Creation

At the end of October 2014, Performing Gender project was back to Bologna! Cristina Henriquez, Juanjo Arques, Riccardo Buscarini and Vlasta Delimar have returned to the MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna in order to stage five new creations, the final result of their artistic and personal research on gender identities and sexual orientations. The week was organised by Cassero LGBT Center as part of the twelfth edition of Gender Bender Festival. Performing Gender is a European dance project making use of artistic and cultural tools to open up a civil reflection on gender and sexual orientation differences. The project invites an international group of choreographers, dancers and visual artists to share a two year voyage of research and training based in different European cities: workshops, residencies and performances investigate the representations of sexuality and gender, challenging the artists’ identities and calling into question stereotypes and bias.
