Contemporary Trends in Portuguese Children's Literature Conference
Enviado por Elisa Events
Portuguese children’s literature has reached the international book market, bringing its Portuguese illustrators to the world’s attention. Children’s and youth literature has become one of the most active sectors of publishing in Portugal and the number of authors and independent publishers is still on the rise. Nowadays the study of children’s and youth literature is an integral part of teacher training at university and is the subject of exhibitions, conferences, research projects and other training initiatives. As part of the celebration of the Day of Portuguese Language and Culture, the Camões Centre is organizing a two-day event devoted to Portuguese children’s literature that includes this conference, a workshop for teachers, and an exhibition of award-winning Portuguese illustration works. This event is intended to be a space for the sharing of knowledge about children’s literature studies and a forum for debate and collaboration between teachers, authors, translators and illustrators.
